Qualifications to receive SSDI and SSI benefits in Las Vegas
To qualify for Social Security Disability in Las Vegas claimants must have a severe health condition which is expected to last for at least 12 continuous months or result in their death.

Not all workers will qualify for Las Vegas SSDI benefit. Claimants must have worked jobs covered by Social Security and paid enough in payroll taxes to be considered “insured”. SSDI in Las Vegas is only offered to those who are considered disabled by the Social Security Administration.

Claimants who qualify for SSDI in Las Vegas may also receive Medicare coverage 24 months after the onset date of disability. Auxiliary benefits may also be paid to dependents or spouses, under certain conditions.

Claimants who have not worked or who have not paid taxes will not qualify for Las Vegas SSDI. The Federal Government does offer another wage replacement program to the aged, the blind, or the disabled who have very limited income and resources. Las Vegas SSI claimants may also be eligible for Medicaid at the time of approval.
